This article is dedicated to all those who make New Year resolutions and later or sooner realise the futility of such resolutions. Some believe that your destiny is defined and yet some think you can design it. It’s a redundant problem in mathematical lingo. However, one can take solace in the situation that one is designing his/her destiny while opposite may be true. I am afraid, there is no way to find it out.
“Rule Your Mind or it will Rule You”: Horace
Even if you rule your mind, it dictates you to rule it. In all best situations in life there is a paradox.
The paradoxes are neither the best nor the worst. They have the potential of being very logical and spiritual at the same time. Paradoxes can teach you life lessons in the simplest form. The most famous paradox is “ I always tell lies” if this is true then subject is telling the truth which is a lie or lie which is truth, which ever way you look at it.
Now… Fast forward to computer age:
I want to know what your home page is? In the majority of cases it will either be some news site, a blog, or an interesting web site where you must have kept a collection of other web sites…well what you call such a site…hmmm meta search site (A Web site that functions as a directory to other Web sites.)
If you are like me you have already chartered the flight map of the browsing future for your next session. Now you are being lead to various web sites by stealthy, foxy, scheming and very sly search engines which are ruling your mind. Remember, there are no paradoxes here. You seems to be in control but if you have creative analytical mind you can easily find out you are very subtly being lead to one site to another by some thing and very dangerously sometimes by some one.
Well, What do we do?
I am afraid I don’t have any solution. I never had a solution to first problem of the “Rule your mind…” thing. Sometimes it’s a better feeling to know that someone is tricking you rather than not knowing that someone is tricking you (but then you really don’t know you are being tricked). The choice is yours.
